Lego botanical collection nurtures green thumbs for all

Life as an adult can be stressful. So, it’s no wonder that companies look for all the ways to pamper us harried humans. Peace of mind brought to us by need and desire, of course. But, the latest in zen relaxation seeks to return us to our roots of creativity and play. Lego has unveiled its Botanical Collection, which includes colorful flower bouquet, bonsai tree, roses, and tulips.

From electric massagers to bath salts to acupressure mats to vacation packages, there’s a bounty of products and activities that help unwind the body and mind. So, it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that Lego’s tranquil contribution recreates a touch of nature and beauty. Thankfully, we don’t need to have green thumbs or worry about sunlight or water. Lego understands us deeply, and we love them for it.

According to the Lego Play Well Study 2020, 73% of adults globally research for new ways to destress weekly. And, of all the options given, 81% of adults indicated that playing promotes relaxing. “As adults look for new ways to switch off and relax, we’re delighted to be able to help them seek solace from their busy everyday lives as they immerse themselves in creating these beautiful botanical builds,” says Jamie Berard, Design Lead at the LEGO Group.

The first ever Lego Flower Bouquet consists of 756 pieces, which include new colors and shapes. Inspired by real daisies, roses, snapdragons, poppies, asters, and grasses, the set features an array of customizable elements. You can position the petals and leaves for that perfect bouquet, or use your imagination to build something new. The stems also disassemble and recombine, allowing flower heights up to 14 inches (36 cm) to fit a variety of vase sizes.

The Lego Bonsai tree recreates (in its own way) the ancient art of tending bonsai. This set contains 878 pieces, which includes classic green leaves as well as vibrant pink blossoms. Both sets of leaves allow arrangement to make unique, custom designs. Additionally, each tree includes pieces to build a ‘wood’ stand and black rectangular pot. There’s also little ‘rocks’ to fill around the base of the tree for added detail.

Two more Botanical Collection sets add bursts of color and beauty. Lego Roses and Tulips (sold separately) are easy to assemble and feature adjustable stems. The roses come as a pair, while the tulips come as a trio of white, yellow, and purple blooms. The Lego Flower Bouquet and Bonsai Tree are set to retail for US$49.99, while the Lego Roses and Lego Tulips are $12.99 and $9.99, respectively.
